Michael
This following song/poem was written for a friend I met over the internet. She told me of a lost love and from her emails the following was composed.
Michael told me that he loved me,
Would love me for forever,
But I would have to choose,
The time was now or never.
I chose to take the other one,
Give him all my life,
I often wonder how it would have been,
Being Michael’s wife.
Michael said he wouldn’t forget me,
Made sure I would remember, too,
Said he had a fantasy, a
Dream about us two.
We would meet years later,
Drinking coffee in a New York café,
Both of us would be divorced,
Feeling lost and betrayed.
Then he’d look up and see me sitting there,
He would know me instantly,
Even though twenty years had past,
Seen he’d last seen me.
He would come over to my table,
Not have to say a word,
The love in our eyes would do the talking,
Sweetest words ever heard.
Without a word we would leave,
Walking hand in hand into the day,
And we would live and love again,
Forever and for always.
One day I found myself,
Drinking coffee in a New York café,
I wondered if Michael was there,
If he was what would we say.
Michael told me that he loved me,
Would love me for forever,
But I would have to choose,
The time was now or never.
